Negative effects of the excessive use of technology in childhood In the last decades there has been a significant increase in the use of technology in the country, but for this paper I am going to focus on children. According to Unicef the technology If it´s used in the right way and is accessible on a scale universal, can change the situation of children who have been left behind . In Chile the technology sometimes it´s used to apply it in teaching with a limited objective to increase the student motivation. The problem in the use of technology, it´s not the technology it´s in own rights, but the excessive use of, especially on childhood. María Jesús de la Fuente is a psychology student at “Universidad de Chile", Santiago, Chile. Before studying at the university, she studied for fourteen years at the Calasanz school, where she received a diploma and a medal for being considered a comprehensive student within her generation, on two occasions. At the school she was also vice president of the student center for one year and was a " infancia escolapia " monitor for four years, a "prejuvenil" monitor for two years and a community monitor for three years. After leaving school, she remains a monitor of communities and joined an initiative called "Orione" in which they seek to help and accompany girls derived of Sename and who have special educational needs.
