Negative effects of the excessive use of technology in childhood

In the last decades there has been a significant increase in the use of technology in the country, but for this paper I am going to focus on children. According to Unicef the technology If it´s used in the right way and is accessible on a scale universal, can change the situation of children who have been left behind. In Chile the technology sometimes it´s used to apply it in teaching with a limited objective to increase the student motivation.
The problem in the use of technology, it´s not the technology it´s in own rights, but the excessive use of, especially on childhood. Today children’s have increased the use of technology, spending a lot of time in front of the television, computer, tablet, cellphone, etc. Possible consequence of the excessive use can be: intellectual disabilities, difficulties in attention, poor academic performance, sleep disturbances.
A possible solution for this problem it could be reduces the use of technology in children’s proposing them others activities than can motivate them such a: social activities with other children’s, sports, outdoors games, etc. different activities that can motivate children and help them develop social and mentally

During the first semester of the second year for the subject of social psychology, we had to attend the educational center Rousseau located in the commune of Maipu, to make "facilitation" with the students of the third grade of primary school. This center has approximately 620 students, for pre-school level to fourth middle in high school, and 25 teachers. The first aspect to considerer it´s the time that we do this activity, we went to the center throughout the first semester (every Monday morning). Our purpose was to make a facilitation with the students that will help them improve the relationship between them, because they had a lot of problems of physical and verbal violence between them In general I think that this facilitation has a lot of positive points like the willingness of the students to improve and the expression of love to us, but sometimes the communication with the center was not fluid.
